Director General SEPA & officiak inspected the unloading of Sotabean being carried out at Birth Number 13 of KPT, which was releasing the high concentration of PM (particulate Matters) and Soyabean Dust in open Air. Also the sources inform that vessel halted from Port of Canada with 67 Thousand metric tons of Soyabean.
This ship had been imported from various importer / consignee. Inview of the death / casualties causing LAST NIGHT at Kemari, It is apprehended that allergens are adversely effecting human health. Sind EPA took action under section 21 of Sind Environmental Protection Act 2014 and legal course of actions will be applied. The KPT (karachi port trust) management has been directed to immediately stoppage of unloading of Sotabean, othervoice it will take another 15 more days of complete unloading of whole consignment from Ship.
